Portland-based educator and programmer who teaches Buckminster Fuller's synergetics through Python, computational geometry, and a deliberately cross-disciplinary STEAM curriculum.

Urner is the most active living synergetics pedagogue. His work bridges Fuller's geometry to modern computational education through two main curriculum projects: "School of Tomorrow" (a cross-disciplinary K-16 framework weaving synergetics with Transcendentalism, Pragmatism, Wittgenstein, and Quaker tradition) and "MartianMath" (a Python-based teaching sequence: synergetics philosophy → polyhedra as graphs → sphere packing → concentric hierarchy → synergetics constant → quanta modules).

His teaching approach is distinctive: where Amy Edmondson explains synergetics through geometric exposition, Urner embeds it in executable code. Students learn the concentric hierarchy by computing tetravolumes in Python, explore the IVM through graph theory, and use "Quadray coordinates" (a 4-axis system native to the tetrahedron) as an alternative to both Cartesian XYZ and Fuller's own vector notation.

Urner is an interpreter-educator: not a direct Fuller collaborator, but the person who has done the most to translate synergetics into a teachable, computational, standards-aligned curriculum for the 21st century. His work independently validates Edmondson's pedagogical ordering while adding a programming dimension.
