Buckminster Fuller's Universe
Once, when we were members of an American delegation in Moscow for the purpose of exploring outstanding issues between the two countries, Bucky Fuller gave a talk on the human future that no one who heard him soon forgot.

Main ideas
- Bucky Fuller was born on July 12, 1895, in Milton, Massachusetts, just outside Boston, to Richard Buckminster Fuller, Sr., and Caroline Wolcott (Andrews) Fuller.
- A great deal of Fuller's formal and informal education was predicated upon experimenting with and discovering the elegant simplicity of universal patterns he found in mathematics.
- Even as a child, Fuller was beginning to envision Nature as a critical element of his life, though his philosophy and strategies would not be fully developed for many years.
- Upon graduation from the United States Naval Academy, newly commissioned Ensign R. Buckminster Fuller entered naval service.
Why it matters
The years of 1969 and 1970 marked a monumental transition for humanity and for Fuller, then seventy-five. Without ceasing work on the projects that required his attention, he shifted his focus to completion rather than to the development of new undertakings.
