Robert Marks
Author of The Dymaxion World of Buckminster Fuller (1960) — the classic, heavily illustrated survey that first presented Fuller's life and inventions as a coherent body of work.
Marks assembled and documented Fuller's designs into a single accessible volume, tracing the line from the 4D and Dymaxion houses through the Dymaxion car and map to the geodesic dome. Produced in close cooperation with Fuller (a later edition was co-credited with Fuller himself), it became the standard reference through which a generation first encountered the full sweep of Fuller's work.
Role in Fuller's orbit
Marks is the documentarian of the Dymaxion world — the compiler who turned Fuller's scattered inventions into an authoritative, widely read survey, effectively the first "collected works" of Fuller's design.
