Zomeworks

Zomeworks Corporation, the Albuquerque, New Mexico company founded by Steve Baer, which commercialized passive-solar technology and the zome — the zonohedral building form Baer adapted from Fuller's geodesic geometry.

Emerging from the Drop City milieu, Zomeworks turned owner-builder experiments into real products: the insulating Skylid louver, the water-drum "drum wall," track-free solar trackers, and zome building systems. It was one of the key workshops of the 1970s appropriate-technology and passive-solar movements.

Role in Fuller's world

Zomeworks is where Fuller-derived structural geometry crossed into the solar-energy industry — the commercial expression of the dome movement's do-more-with-less ethos, carrying Baer's zome and passive-solar inventions into everyday building.
