Medard Gabel
American systems researcher and educator, former executive director of the World Game Institute and founder of BigPictureSmallWorld and the Global Solutions Lab — the person who did the most to institutionalize and extend Fuller's World Game.
Gabel worked directly with Fuller on the World Game — the participatory simulation for allocating world resources to "make the world work for 100% of humanity" — and went on to lead it after Fuller. His subsequent organizations (EarthGame, the Global Solutions Lab, the Cornucopia Project) apply the same data-rich, whole-Earth, solutions-oriented method to food, energy, and development, including regenerative-agriculture work for governments.
Role in Fuller's orbit
Gabel is a direct collaborator and institutional heir: he turned Fuller's World Game from a demonstration into a durable teaching and research practice, and remains its foremost living exponent. His work is the operational continuation of Fuller's design-science, resource-accounting program.
