World Game Institute
The World Game Institute, the organization built around Buckminster Fuller's World Game — the large-scale participatory simulation in which players allocate the world's resources to meet human needs without ecological ruin.
Growing out of Fuller's World Resources Inventory and design-science program, the World Game Institute turned the World Game from a demonstration into a durable teaching and research practice. Under Medard Gabel's direction it ran workshops and data projects, and its method continued through successor organizations such as the Global Solutions Lab.
Role in Fuller's world
The Institute is the operational home of one of Fuller's signature ideas — resource accounting as a cooperative, global, positive-sum game — carrying his "make the world work" ambition forward as an ongoing program rather than a one-time event.
