3Hatch, Alden. Buckminster Fuller: At Home in the Universe. New York: Crown, 1974. Hatch uses a lifetime fund of friendship, begun when they met in 1915, and adds pertinent researched details to paint a lively picture of Fuller’s life. Indexed.

4 Marks, Robert and R. Buckminster Fuller. The Dymaxion World of Buckminster Fuller. Garden City, New York: Anchor Press/Double-day Books, 1973. A straightforward, factual account of Fuller’s inventions and life, full of detail and including an appendix of illustrations which takes up two-thirds of the book. Interesting, enjoyable, and precise. Indexed.

5 Snyder, Robert. B. Buckminster Fuller. New York: St. Martin’s Press, 1980. Combines Fuller’s own comments with additional information supplied by the author and a great many illustrations to paint an impression of Bucky’s life. Snyder married Fuller’s daughter and thus had access to many private papers, anecdotes, and photographs.

The purpose of the Institute is to see to it that Buckminster Fuller’s work is made accessible, so that it can be further researched, developed, and applied toward humanity’s success. The Institute is the custodian of the extensive Buckminster Fuller Archive. 37 The World Game Project. The game was originated by Buckminster Fuller ‘‘as a creative alternative to war games.’’ Its goal, stated by Bucky, is ‘‘To make the world work/for 100% of humanity/in the short-est possible time/through spontaneous cooperation/without ecological offense/or the disadvantage of anyone.’’ The organization describes itself as a computer game, a source of global information, and a plan-ning tool. Its ‘‘World Game Workshops’’ directly involve the audience in planning for the future, and it offers items (such as films, books, and a newsletter) relating to the world, its resources, and our future.
