Chapter 43
ANTHEM
2I HAVE experienced the exquisite unity of refinement of the finity within, and completeness of inclusion of the in-finity without,--conversely viewed, as to finity and infinity, by male and female, and the conversal coincidence identity I have checked through your understanding, the latter born of your innate unspoiled unselfishness, in complement of-and-to my regained unselfishness, OUR universal heritage of all unselfishness, attained, and de-self articulated before us—and time was-is-wis-wist not, therefore I KNOW—as I knew I would know, when I was told that if I would comprehend (courageously, unquestioningly) TIME,—rationalize, mathematize, geometrize, and synchronize IT and un-selfishly radiate the knowledge of it—to the objectivized state of a from-self-divorcedinstrument, word or tool, or vehicle, or means, that the knowledge revealed to me, i.e., that, despite vanity—and illusion glamour of the self-satisfaction urge—infinity could not be comprehended or enunciated in the language of finity (non-ending perfection described in terms of ending-imperfection-error) (sanity described in terms of unsanity)—BUT that finity COULD, by its essential language—mathematics, be discovered and its limits ramified in the terms of itself, RELATIVITY (of imperfection) as a time-calculus POSTULATE, and PROBABILITY reduction to POSSIBILITY and thereby REAL-I-ZATION thereafter to become STATISTICS of ‘‘IT HAS HAPPENED’’; and its (Time’s) (Finity’s) ERROR, and, therefore, its ‘‘ALL’’ (for all Time is—is an error illusion) eliminated by its successful pronouncement, thus inevitably isolating infinity, by elimination of all error—by the comprehension of the latter. Infinity, isolated, evolves its own awareness—perfectly. I KNOW because I have effected that which I was empowered to effect, the check of which is your understanding and our witnesses’ understanding that we DO understand.
3 I know I have been, and may at will be, synchronized, and I know, not only that I may accelerate my sphere of comprehension ahead of the mean expansive rate—or delve within to all ages of the past, but, also, that I may be utterly aware time-lessly of infinity, as necessarily demanded for cleansing of error of fixation concept—
4 WHEREFORE, if, and whenever, I am un-selfish, for outward necessity through longing-for-understanding, not inward necessity of fear-of-misunderstanding, and over and beyond the state of unselfishness, OBJECTIVELY HARMONIOUS, radiantly-synchronizing the articulation, I may factually prove for man’s experience ‘‘conceived’’ knowledge, my ability to control the course and rate of the time expansion veins of realization (not its checking or warping) by the intuitively accredited SELECTION BY INTELLECT instead of procrastinatingly submitting to inevitable non-rationalized destructive natural erosion expansion-entropy.
5 Thereby I may constantly, and harmoniously, be of service to mankind—as its ‘‘runner’’—and I am you—and you and I are WE—and WE are life’s ‘‘runners’’—its radiating sphere dwellers of outer and inner expansion contact—kiss. This I could not say unless I—WE—KNOW!
6 ‘‘Right-O, Jones, old kid. You’re pretty happy, aren’t you?’’
7 ‘‘And how!’’ exclaimed Jones. ‘‘By the way, could you describe some general characteristics of the X-ian mechanisms?’’
8 ‘‘Certainly,’’ said the X-ian. ‘‘We first determined to provide a PRIMARY INDIVIDUAL-USE-MECHANISM that should serve BOTH as a receiving apparatus for the individual, tunable to all the sources of scientifically provided means of sustenance and growth; AND as a broadcasting apparatus of complete ability to put-on-theair every growthfully-provoked articulation of the individual whose every articulation so broadcast would find a receiver or receivers in a like manner individually instrumented, to whom the first individuals articulation represented a reciprocal part in the combination of the infinity of parts thus constantly broadcast into a totality of synchronized mechanism evolutionarily replacing the worn-out or, in time inadequate,—that is, obsolete parts.
910‘‘This receiving and sending apparatus of the individual had also to represent a SCIENTIFICALLY ADEQUATE SHELTER of the individual, or groups of individuals, against our now-all-known harnessable forces which pre-known were chaotically disintegrating.
11‘‘Having determined at the outset on such an individual shelter and environment control with complete receiving and broadcasting ability, we designed the shelter mechanism in such a manner that the individual parts could be interchanged in location at will, due to the fact that all fitting of parts was accomplished through angular wedging of a determined angular-degree-modular-division of the whole.
12‘‘We were thus able to keep children out of epidemics via radio education. But a vastly greater attainment was the INTELLECTUAL ADVANTAGE of the progressive and spontaneous choice by our children of our EXQUISITELY-SIMPLY THINKING scientists on XK (similar to your Mr. Einstein), as their leaders, instead of forcing the children into mass attendance upon the educational wholesale menus of Miss Non-Einstein-Understanding-But-Has-to-Work-fora-Living BROWN.
13‘‘These scientific dwelling machines available to all through mass production industry were doubtingly and fearfully circumvented by the majority on XK at frightful but habitual costs and were finally accredited only through the emergency of a civil war released necessity,—that is, through mortal threat to the whole human XK family, being gas and shock, though not shell proof. Due to their individual-deployment-ability over the land they were recognized to be relatively a safer survival mechanism for the populace, when so deployed, than in concentration habitats of cities. Thus they were seized upon with the notion that they were but temporary expedients.
14 ‘‘The war threat to XK civilization over, dissipated by the wide deployment of the populace, the latter never returned to their humpty dumpty vanity tailored habitats of pre-War days. They had found INCIDENTAL to the emergency occupation of the scientific dwelling machines that a new and thrillingly immunized LIFE was unfolding in fulfillment of age old dreams of freedom and growth.
15 ‘‘In answer to the inevitable query of those of your harmonious and mystery-loving earthian souls who are ever wary of the potentially prosaic, I may state that our houses on XK, of strictly scientific structure and mechanism, are not dissimilar in principle to the mortal portion of the human, or to depersonalize the picture they are like pianos, or other musical instruments, that is, completely- abstracted-MEANS by which music may mutably be played in satisfaction of all senses, but ONLY when PLAYED by the specific individual concerned, by the phantom captain of the mechanisms sensorial.
16 ‘‘You might think, Jonesie, if it weren’t for this simile of the individually articulated shelter mechanisms with the piano, that our dwelling mechanisms would promise a devastatingly limited prosaicness of existence, because you are so accustomed, despite your adeptness in understanding what I say, to a surface-be-all-ness and end-all-ness, and to a tattoo-limited harmonic and to a tiresome obviosity, in your earthian confusion, identical to our X-ian confusion before we scientifically segregated the animate completely from the inanimate.’’
17 Jones was thoughtful for awhile, and then said, suddenly, ‘‘I’ve been thinking about that point of yours regarding an obvious prosaic-ness in these machine shelters; and have been thinking of what you said about their being like pianos—that is, instruments out of which music may mutably flow, music for all the senses, but only when played by life, the phantom captain.
18 ‘‘It is quite remarkable that, on earth, we have already developed an abstracting mechanism for sound to a far greater extent than in relation to our instruments for articulation of sight, touch or smell-taste harmonies.
1920‘‘Long, long ago on earth man’s only means of aural harmonic articulation was his voice or the beating with his hand, or a stick, upon a resonant surface.
21‘‘However, man observed in nature a multitude of sounds which he could not imitate with his own voice and which, IF imitable he felt he would love to compose in symphonic arrangement. Sometimes, also, he heard harmonic arrangements not audible in nature.
22‘‘Slowly man evolved many musical instruments, all of which, from a structural viewpoint, were highly demonstrative of the full family of mechanical functions, and extraordinarily representative of understanding of the field of science now most provocative to us, RADIATION.
23‘‘Every conceivable type of sound, and the full octave limits of sound, became represented by mans musical instruments.
24‘‘What was the result? Bach, hearing the music of the universe, was enabled to record somewhat of the beauty that he heard, for OTHERS not only to hear, but also to PLAY.
25‘‘TIME had been completely conquered by the musical world, both in the actual continuity of the music, and in the LATENCY OF TIME BETWEEN ARTICULATIONS.
26‘‘That is, musical notations made by Bach, on paper, could later be printed, and, by another, orchestrated. Orchestrations for the full family of musical instruments could be printed by the abstract printing machine on synthetic product-paper made by other machines, and these musical notations could be laid upon the shelf for an hundred years or more. THEN, three or more generations having INTERVENED, a group of men, able to play the family of musical instruments, could be led into an orchestral articulation of that music heard by Bach.
27‘‘Still further—over the microphone STEPPED-UP electrically this music enters a super-or-sub-sensorial wave-length frequency that makes it broascastable, apparently BACK INTO THE UNIVERSE
28AGAIN, the full LATENT broadcast of which men on ships at sea, an aviator in the air, or Julia Murphy in a city hovel, or the farmer’s wife, can tune in upon, without any personal-equation dissonance by unwanted diverting human beings in their presence, and so hear the music of the universe that Bach heard years ago.
29‘‘Here is IMMORTALITY!’’
30‘‘Darling,’’—that radiant flash of infinite understanding had flashed between Jonesie and the X-ian—‘‘I can understand those houses all right.’’
