3I wish to thank all those who contributed their expertise and resources to the assembling of the photographs presented in this volume. Although my research uncovered the fact that the majority of these photographs have been reproduced so many times in various books, magazines, and other publications that they are now considered to be in the public domain, reproducible facsimiles were provided by various individuals and institutions. Those who wished to be credited are listed below.
4 Unfortunately, the names of most of the actual photographers have been lost to history over time, and I have no way of crediting them in these pages. Fuller and the institutions with which he worked constantly received photographs of his projects from grateful admirers and associates and, because of his commitment to providing the best possible information to the public, he often published many photographs without crediting unknown sources. As Fuller and others have done in the past, I apologize to any original sources I could not trace.
